about

We know its been ages since we've released any new material and we've been itching to get some stuff out for you all. While our album has taken us longer than expected, we are in the final stages of completion. However, we were really excited to share this brand new song with you all so on friday we went to North Of Princess and did a live off the floor take of this song and a few others which shall be released in due course.

I wrote this song in part at Rick Beatos studio in Atlanta and in part at the bar at Smith's Olde Bar in Midtown, Atlanta. My parents used to live in Virginia for 3 years but recently moved back to England. On my drive down to Atlanta in November it was about 4am and I wanted to go home and sleep in my bed in my parents home but instead, I slept in my car in a Walmart parking lot about 20 minutes away from where we used to live.

This song is dedicated to Hannele Clara, Rosa Lewis-Anthony, Arwen Lewis-Anthony and Mum and Dad who've been dragged through hell and back over the last year and deserve way better.

I hope everyone enjoys this song, if you do please share it with your friends. We will be entering it into CBC searchlight soon and releasing the audio online shortly. Thanks for all your support, we couldnt do what we do as a band without you!

lyrics

I was gonna leave this morning, just a little after 9.
But things didnt go according to the plan, that I set out in my mind
So I let go of some things, that I held dear to me
And I turned them into gasoline and I walked them down my street

So I slept in my car in a parking lot not far
From the place that I called home
And I woke up with the dawn and I turned the engine on
And I kept driving along
Down the 81 South

Mum and Dad moved back to England, I guess Virginia did them wrong
There aint nothing me or my sisters can say to them
Thats gonna help them get along

So now that house is empty, or filled with people I dont know
So I drove right past the exit I used to take
That used to lead me home

So I slept in my car in a parking lot not far
From the place that I called home
And I woke up with the dawn and I turned the engine on
And I kept driving along

So I'll find the place where the local drunks go
And I'll sit at the bar on my own
I'll drink whatever they pour for me so I can get some sleep

So I can get some sleep

So I'll go back to the car in a parking lot not far
From the place that I called home
And I'll wake up with the dawn and I'll turn the engine on
And I'll keep driving along the 81 South
